A small pay-per-call API for developers, newsrooms and AI agents that need clean, dated food safety data. It is not live yet. No keys or accounts are available, and nothing on this page can be bought.

Every monthly release is free to download as CSV or JSON, for example https://redplateindex.pages.dev/data/food-2026-09.json.

GET /v1/inspections/summary?city=nyc&zip=10001&from=2026-07 | Inspection outcomes for a city, borough or ZIP code by month (aggregates only). |
GET /v1/inspections/business?city=chicago&license=… | The latest public inspection results for one licensed food business, with the source date. |
GET /v1/recalls/food?q=peanut&since=2026-01-01 | FDA food recall records matching a product or firm, with our cause and category labels. |
GET /v1/recalls/check?upc=… | Checks whether a product code appears in an FDA food recall record. |

- A free monthly allowance for journalists, researchers and students.
- Every response will include source dates and the attribution text required by each data source.
- Business-level and product-level data only. Lookups about individuals will not be offered.
